Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-17

This policy explains how Star Labo (“we”) handles privacy in the “Neo Video” app (iOS / iPadOS / tvOS / Android, including Android TV, Fire TV, and Fire tablets) and “Neo Video Server” (macOS / Windows / Linux; together, the “Software”). In short: we collect nothing that could identify you or your device.

1. Information we collect

The Software collects and transmits no data of any kind — no personal information, no usage data, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no crash reports. There are no accounts, and we operate no backend servers.

2. Where your data lives

Your videos, photos, playback history and resume positions are stored only on the computer you run Neo Video Server on and on your own devices. None of it is ever sent to us or to any third party.

3. Network traffic

All communication between the app and your server happens inside your local network. The server reaches the internet only to ask the official download site whether a newer version exists (the Mac app checks once a day and this can be turned off in settings; the command-line version checks only when you run it; the Windows version is updated by the Microsoft Store). This request necessarily transmits ordinary network information (such as your IP address) to the distribution site, but we do not store it, track it, share it with third parties, or use it to identify you or your device.

4. In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by the store you got the app from (the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore). Payment details are handled by the store operator and are not accessible to us. Please also review that store’s privacy policy.
